The Mighty Mutts are a great group of dogs who due to behavioral or medical reasons, calls the farm their home. Each one has a unique backstory that has brought them to the sanctuary. And each one deserves a spot at the sanctuary where they can be themselves and enjoy their days. To give these dogs this opportunity, we need your continued support.
Monthly sponsors will provide a steady stream of funds that ensure these dogs can live the rest of their days happy and healthy here at the farm. Funds will go directly to their care for food, medical treatments, safe housing, and the love and care of our wonderful staff.
Monthly sponsors will receive regular updates with a picture of how your consistent funds are helping our fantastic Mighty Mutts here at the Farm.
Colby:
Colby, along with his feral mother and 5 siblings, were moments away from being euthanized when St. Francis Farm staff stepped in and saved them all. After months of effort, three of Colby’s siblings were so well socialized they went on to find families to call their own.
But not Colby.
Colby, his brother (Marty), and his mother (Martha) are taking their time learning to trust people. Colby has come a LONG way, but still has a way to go. He will likely call the farm his forever home. But he loves it here and we love watching him grow! But we need your help. Offering a lifetime of care to each dog that needs it at the farm is our goal, but we cannot do it without Animal Angels!
Kate:
Kate is a young Catahoula Leopard hound mix who was surrendered to a shelter by her owner for showing aggression towards her other dog. Kate had been living at that shelter until her time was up because she was deemed unadoptable. We had to step in and save this beautiful girl, And she is now in need of monthly sponsors.
Lucky:
Lucky has been adopted multiple times through our parent rescue, Last Chance Animal Rescue, in New York. And was returned every time for "bad" behavior. She does not do well around small children, who have a tendency to have quick movements, and she is not a fan of other dogs.
With our set routines and ability to have more control over who Lucky interacts with, compared to a traditional home, Lucky does amazing here. She is very playful and enjoys the farm staff. She is the perfect example of a dog that is not a fit for a traditional home but is still an amazing dog.
Wall-E:
Wall-E originally came to our program several years ago. He went into our adoption program and found himself a family. Unfortunately, after 3 year in a home, he was returned. We were devastated for this poor boy. We really thought he was going to have a family for life.
Since he is back at the farm, we are trying to make him as comfortable and happy as possible. We want to try and find him another home eventually, but first we want him to get comfortable in his surroundings. We don't want to create too much change and stress for this older boy. Until he is ready for a home, we will shower him in all of the love and attention he deserves. If you would like to help him, please consider being a monthly sponsor for Wall-E.
Noah:
Noah came to the farm through an owner surrender. Noah was surrendered due to behavioral issues. The owners loved him and used trainers to try to work with Noah so that they could keep them in their home. However, they decided that they just couldn't keep him anymore. So, now Noah calls the farm his home. You can help to fund his long term care here at the farm by becoming his Animal Angel!
Dexter:
Dexter is a beautiful boy, who was found wondering around a camping ground all alone. He seemed scared, making him a little aggressive towards these people that he didn't know. So, visitors called Animal Control to come get him and he was taken directly to a local shelter.
Since he had shown this fearful aggression, no one wanted him and he was moved up to the top of the euthanasia list. Many people don't realize that it is scary for dogs, just like humans, to be thrown into new situations, with new people and that they need time to decompress. Luckily, right before Dexter's time ran out at the shelter, St Francis Farm staff stepped in and offered him a home on the farm!
Dexter loves his life here, and does amazing with our staff, being a playful favorite. He would love to find his perfect forever home, but until that time, he will call the farm his home. Dexter needs Monthly Sponsorship Angels to help fund his long term care here at the farm. Could that be you?
