UPDATE: Tuesday, 3/28/2023 - Neptune's test came back inconclusive. His case is under consultation, and medications are being tried to help Neptune. He is still hanging in there, but no real improvement. Prayers and support are needed now more than ever!
Monday, 3/27/2023 - This loving and exceptionally smart puppy is hanging in there after five days at the specialist veterinarian hospital. One of the nine puppies from the “Solar System Litter” they were rescued with their mom, Earth, four weeks ago. Since then, they have transitioned to foster homes and bloomed!
Sadly, on the eve of their first Adoption Event, little Neptune appeared lethargic, and his gums looked pale. After racing him to our vet on Saturday morning, it was discovered that Neptune would need an IMMEDIATE blood transfusion if he were to have any chance of survival. The good news is he has no puppy diseases like Parvo, etc. The not-so-good news is that we are still, days later, trying to determine the problem. More in-depth tests have been run, including a biopsy, and we are hoping for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan by the first of the week. Neptune was discharged to home with his last blood tests on Friday. He will return Monday for a follow-up.
